This piece was commissioned by D & C to recall a very special holiday in southern Spain. They particularly wanted it to evoke the heat and history of the region, combining different memories from their trip.

“We commissioned Maria to paint something to remind us of a special holiday we had in Southern Spain. We traveled to several different places each with their own character and history. Maria’s painting is perfect, it has captured the colour and heat of the country also the Moorish influences on the buildings. We have it in our lounge and remember our holiday with joy every time I look at it - which is often!”
