There is a shockingly vivid quality to the very start of bluebell season. The mercurial blue of the flowers often punctuates swathes of luminous greens and yellows—an explosion of delicate new leaves, moss, lichen, and sunlight. Together, these tones stir your sense of wonder and often feel impossible for me to capture in a photograph, but a joy to paint.
